New to me vanson model e

Well, this showed up a few weeks ago. It was a craigslist find. According to the guy i bought it from it was bought new in 1996. Its got a black tag, its in pretty good shape, but the thing that throws me is the talon zipper. Anyone know when vanson went to ykk? All the zippers are talon, not just the main so i know its not a replacement and it needs replaced. Its an off the rack size 50. Its the best fitting vanson ive had but, as expected, it doesnt touch the LL columbia. I cant understand the giant armpits this jacket has. Its also supposed to be a shade shorter than my columbia but actually wearing the vanson it sits lower on my hips. The leather is nice and soft so it wears well. I was also under the impression that the model e had the dropped back to cover more of you when on a bike. Cool jacket. Leather looks nice and thick on this one. The model E should have a backdrop.. maybe they updated it at some point and yours is older than that?

You can see it in this one. The back doesnt dip at all. I just did some browsing on google images and it looks like none of them dip.

That Vanson is in my humble opinion the best M/C jacket ever made. It's built perfectly for it. I've owned at least a dozen of them. Can't be topped. Congrats and enjoy!
