Hi Seth:
My Dad was a Railroad Engineer, and I know many a cold day spent this time of year. He's now retired, running some cattle (the family occupation since the Civil War). I am fortunate to leave the office to get to go work with him on the farm.
I am sure that was a cold day out working the snow.
