overlockers

One Too Many
Anybody know when the overlocker was invented? Double seams are a big point with vintage shirt hunters as supposedly a guide to pre-60's items, but the legendary Alfred Shaheen shirts from the 50's didn't have them...even his daughter couldn't give me any hard info. And while we're on island wear, anybody hip to the UI Maikai story, they aren't mentioned in any of the tomes on Aloha wear but have some classic designs...or should I go to some shag/tiki culture board.
