my first post! i wonder if any other afficianados are familiar with Paris Hatters of San Antonio? I had a hat made by them in about 1986 and still wear it at all available functions ,getting my moneys worth,as I recall it cost about $250 way back then.I also had some cowboy boots made but i forget the name of the bootmakers but i remember they made the boots for john wayne.Can anyone enlighten me ?

Paris Hatter

This is my first post as well. Paris is where I got my last two hats, and two or three others a few years back. I've never looked at their boots at length, so I don't know if they have custom jobs or not. Obviously the Tony Lamas are popular hear in Texas... I know Paris has been here forever, but it's funny I never gave it a second thought until I noticed people citing them on this and other posts. Now I feel so cosmopolitan for going there...

Paris Hatters is the real deal, and a far better place to buy a western hat in San Antonio than at one of those big-box western stores where the sales staff are all gum-popping kids terrified that they might have to answer specific questions about hats. You want someone to wait on you who knows more about western hats than you do.
