I hadn't heard about this before, so I searched it, and it look s terrifying!!! It looks as if it might effect the pigmentation of darker skin, and not in a good way, I could be wrong though.

That's about as scary as my mailman offering low cost brain surgery. If you are seriously considering photo rejuvenation, go to a board certified plastic surgeon and no one else.

Guys get procedures like this done more often than you might think. Maybe if you moved this post to a more widely viewed forum, you might get some feedback from a male perspective on other procedures that offer similar results.

Binkie, I agree with Lily. If you are interested in the procedure at least see a dermatologist. I did think about getting this done to help with broken capillaries & rosacea, but I read up on the side effects & thought, dear lord I'm not putting myself through that.

If you are seriously considering photo rejuvenation, go to a board certified plastic surgeon and no one else.

Or at the very least, a certified medical aesthetician. A certified beautician is a different thing - not even close to someone who is medically qualified to perform these procedures.

If you do insist on going with her, you need to ask her some important questions like "how long have you been doing this procedure and how many have you done?" and "do you have clients who are willing to provide testimonials regarding their experience?"

"I had my first session this morning it took about an hour all up, with paperwork and questions about lifestyle, medication, and allergies, I went in unshaven, and was warned that there would be a smell of burning hair! and that it may well thin out my facial hair which would be a blessing, as I detest shaving.

First a very cold gel was applied to my face and my eyes were protected, then i felt as if i was being touched all over my face with a hot "Sparkler" and there was a flash, it was not painful but very uncomfortable, my face did feel like I had been at the beach all day without a sunscreen, a cold gel was applied but had to be taken off as it contained aloe vera, which I am allergic to. it will take a few days to see the results, i look quite pink but the veins and open pores on my nose have gone, and it has definitely softened a few fine lines around my eyes, I go back on Wednesday for a check up. I will probably have four treatments, over the winter months"
