i don't know about drilling holes, if you notice my set for the hat pins are in a independant ribbon, not even sticking the hats grosgrain ----- not that i will ever well but , i don't affect any selling possibilities or tears in my fur, felt or grosgrain i am a perfectionist, at least i try to be but not to the point where i go annoying to myself, then i have to stop , wait till you see my gold ones
on another note love the newsboy i am a full blown wearing the of the 8 piece

Brother those wooden pinheads are very impressive. Did you lathe them or hand shape them with sandpaper? I like those kind of straight pins through the bow, very high class looking to me.

    Nice work! They look great.
I had a couple nice pearl ones, and when I wasn't using them I kept 'em stuck in a little voodoo doll I bought years ago down in New Orleans. My boy got hold of it one day and the pins disappeared.

I make these hat pins, which are cast from pure silver. They go well on fedoras, as well as Westerns. Yeah, I have no problems sticking pins in hats. :eusa_doh: Wife does the hat bands, which are all hand sewn.

Found this vintage monkey wrench pin at a thrift shop in L.A. I wear it on my Cordova cap made by Johnny J.

Formerly the 15th New York National Guard, they were, in the vernacular of the day, an all "colored" unit. Based out of Harlem, NYC. In battle they never lost an inch of territory, nor were they captured by the enemy. At least 200 of them were killed and another 1,300 were wounded.
Among it's complement were Bill "Bojangles" Robinson and composer Noble Sissle.
