The pin is fastened with a clip that I bought from a jeweller, it's the same type of clip that's used to secure earings in pierced ears.
Tina made the MG shirt using lapel pins as buttons, the one left over I made the hat pin with.

Just became am NRA Life Member. The old man always put his Life Member lapel pin front and center on his old Resistol cowboy hat. As a memorial, I want MY Life Member pin on the bow of my Open Road MajMoore rebuilt almost a decade ago. Suggestions?

Was looking for technical assistance in converting a lapel pin into a hat pin . My post is now in the wrong place.

  5. This forum doesn’t like new threads to be started if there is an existing thread on a closely related subject. The moderators (called bartenders here) merge threads to keep the forum from becoming too cumbersome. This happens all the time here; take no offense.

I’m not sure what kind of advice you need on making your lapel pin into a hat pin. Can you not simply pin it to the ribbon/bow?

It would be helpful if we could see the size of the pin. If you scroll up you can see how I attached an MG pin to my hat ribbon, using an ear ring clip as a retainer. The pin had a long shank on the back, about the size of a needle, I snipped it down to about a quarter of an inch, sharpened the stub to a point, pressed it through the hatband ribbon at the bow and held it with the retainer behind the ribbon. It's never come out.

I’m not much for pins and feathers on my hats. But this guy came on a vintage Stetson 100 i recently got.
I think he’s cool as a fan in a freezer.
Heck, between him and the case, that was half the reason i bought it.
    He needs a name...hmm??

Why don't you call him Tom Mix after the famous Stetson ten gallon hat?

  15. The Fedora Lounge no longer supports Tapatalk. Many of us are disappointed, but it looks to be gone for good.

Specially made for me at @silver_dollar_craft

The angle of the design and weight at bottom allows it to be stuck in with a little friction.

On my Hornskov at the moment

I believe it’s only Instagram - this is a made to order, but I hold no design rights! They do incredible silver work as well as wallets and bags. Great folks

  20. Very nice! Good idea on the weight/width to "attach" it.
