i have a borsalino hat and the brim is really soft...it just sags down,whats the best way to stiffen it so i could put the brim up and down??? thanks!

Try holding it over steam, and shape it whilst damp (being careful not to get the sweat damp) - this may revitalise the shellac. If not you can buy stiftener, but remember Borsalino's are reknowned for being soft hats.

Get a steam iron & a white handkerchief. Iron with a good bit of steam with handkerchief between felt & iron.
The steam with "reactivate" the shellac & the pressing will firm up the felt some.
When cooled, the brim should be firmer.
