Hi everyone,
I bought this A-2 on December 4th via eBay. It's a beautiful jacket, but just too small for me.
The Details:
Drawing No: 30H1415
Order No.: 42-15142-P
Hide: Seal Brown Goatskin
Lining: Salmon colored cotton
Knits: Dark Brown
The hide is in great condition, with the typical goatskin pebble grain and rich chocolate color. The lining is in very good condition, with a little discoloration to the collar snap backings and what appears to be a thread pull on the waistband, where it meets the knit. The wrist knits are perfect, but the waistband knit has two small holes, which can be seen in the gallery linked to below. They are small and hardly noticeable in person. Otherwise, the jacket is really quite nice. The eBay seller told me he'd purchased it from Aero 5 years ago. Based on the condition of the collar lining, I don't believe it has been worn a great deal. I wore it twice to work to make sure I couldn't live with the arm binding...and I can't.
I paid $375 plus shipping. Now on eBay.
The Measurements:
The tagged size is 42.
Here are the measurements from the eBay listing:
Armpit to Armpit: Front -22.5" Back - 23"
Across Shoulders- 19"
Down the front - 21.5"
Down the back - 24"
Sleeve length - 22" Does not include the knit
And I took these measurements with the jacket lying flat:
1). Front width between armpit seams --- 23.5"
2). Front height along zipper --- 22.25"
3). Back width between armpit seams --- 23.5"
4). Back height from collar seam to end of waistband --- 25.5"
5). Shoulder span between outer tips --- 20"
6). Epaulet length along the back edge --- 8.75"
7). Sleeve length from epaulet seam to end of cuff (including knit) --- 25"
(I ascribe any discrepancies in the measurements to the fact that I'm a complete newb with jackets.)
