Panchito was rolling out when its starboard gear collapsed. There are some photos, but they are crummy. Anyone have further information? Where did it happen? Who was the pilot? Anyone injured? Etc.?

Tom

PS. Panchito is a B-25 owned by Larry Kelly.

Tom,

I did some snooping around after it was posted to our Yahoo Group. The site where the photo's was put up did have a thread on it. But was shut down and photos pulled at Larry's request. From what I've gathered it seems that it may have happened at PAX River NAS, but I don't know why Panchito would have been there. It seems to have been way back on Sep 6th that hit happened. Oleo strut casting failed is the word I've gotten. Also as I've heard there were no injuries but there was some damage to the tail, wing, engine nacelle and prop. I've also heard that the entire A/C is insured so I guess Panchito is off to the body shop for a while, what were the old commercials "uh, oh better get Maico." ??

Matt,

Yeah, I saw Dave's and Phil's postings on the mishap. As long as no one was injured. Larry is a special guy in that he actually lets us play with his million dollar toy and then (when the Ohio Wing used to set up a bar at Reading) would come down and spend the evening sucking suds with the APS rather than going out with the other hoity-toity plane owners. I hate to see anything happen to Panchito and I SURE don't want anything to happen to Larry and his gang!
