Stetson Stuff

I picked up a couple of items recently that I thought might be of general interest. Perhaps this thread can be a repository for Stetson memorabilia or other "non-lid" items... :)

First up, an invoice from the Stetson factory in Philadelphia, dated January 31, 1929:

And this one is interesting -- what appears to be a copper miniature plaque (about the size of a silver dollar) commemorating the 50th anniversary of the John B. Stetson Company. The plaque apparently dates back to 1915. My guess is that these plaques were given to Stetson employees, and that "A. Rolis" was a Stetson employee who began working for Stetson in 1910:

Anyone else have Stetson memorabilia out there? Photos, stock certificates, other items? :)

Nice one, Rusty. I remembered that you had that stock certificate, so I was hoping that you might post it. ;) Very cool that it is now at the Major's new digs. :eusa_clap

Here's a a 1957 Christmas "gift certificate" box for a Stetson western hat. For those who may not already know, the recipient of one of these boxes would take it to their local hatter to receive a new Stetson lid of their choosing...

Fantastic, Carter! I love those.

Here is the Stetson hat box that uses the same foxhound scene that appears on one of the matchbook covers:

Thanks, Carter. That hat box is 7" high and dates to the late 40's. I have only ever seen one other example of that particular box -- it is one of my favorite Stetson hat box scenes.

Since we already have a couple of miniature "gift" boxes posted in this thread, I thought it might be useful to post this 1949 Stetson ad, explaining how it all worked:
