Suggestions?

I am looking for suggestions for good period detective books. I have read all the Hammett and Chandler books and was looking for something along similar lines (kindle if possible - I am out of room for books in my office).

You might check out "The Wichita Mysteries" by Gaylord Dold. I'd be interested in what you think of this trilogy.
