The flying hat

While I like brims that are 2.75" or more, it makes hats more aerodynamic. Here in San Francisco it can get windy often, 20-30 mph gusts and my hat becomes a UFO.

Upturned brims help a lot in the wind, which often blows from under you or from behind, so a bucket design or outback (one in my avatar) catches the wind well and it goes airborn.

Fedora with 2" - 2.5" seems to do very well, cowboy hats too, a bowler would be even better.

I think I will reserve my Leisure Time for those rainy and/or not so windy days.
