First some background. Last year when I purchased SB Clayton I thought that I am done with the jackets. Nevertheless, I become intrigued with the Thedi as his leathers and designs are really unique. I got some swatches of his amazing his veg tanned goat hides of incredible thickness (4 oz +). The rest is a history and here is the result - the utterly simple and functional jacket. It is based on one of the designs from Thedi’s FB. Nevertheless, I think that is also similar to MTC 127912 from Thedi’s vintage collection? It is labeled as XXL but it does not mean anything as the fit it custom and quite trim. Not to forget, during the ordering I also got a cotton mock-up jacket as there were some uncertainties about my measurements. How cool is that? So here are the specifications: chest 48', back length: 26.75', shoulder to shoulder 21.5’, sleeve length: 28.5' and hem: 44’. I also opted for contrast stitching, universal zipper 10, prong buckles, and internal pockets on both sides, cotton drill lining and leather strips on the hem and cuffs. By the way, the jacket has single piece back and weights something over 5 lb. Seems that there are really huge goats around. At the end I would like to emphasize superb craftsmanship. The stitch count is high, the leather strips at cuffs and hem are thinned to avoid bulk. In-between the lining and leather there is additional thick cotton stripe. I am not sure why but maybe to prevent scuffing of the lining or to avoid protrusion of inner leather pieces like pockets? Anyway, a bunch of smart details affecting the production time and quality of the jacket. P.S.: I really like it
Very cool samo!!! Classic design and typical top tier construction from Thedi!! That goat looks super thick! reminds me of Buffalo with that grain. Awesome jacket and perfect fit, congrats!!
I bought a very similar design to this by Thedi in brown horsehide in 2014, with straps around sleeves, and breast pocket. Top quality by a top maker, love the colour as well samo.
...two way matt stainless ziper, diamond shape puller on breast zip, and light multicolour wool lining........Yes Jon my jacket is based on Yours.
Grain on this goat is extremely pronounced, what I found very attractive, beside the thickness of course.
Outstanding. The pattern is very similar to Aero's Highwayman, but it's a nice, simple and understated design. Looks very well done.
REALLY nice. Whenever I think of Thedi I always jump to his incredible moto styles but this is nice too
