Hi fedora loungers, I'm selling some hats that I really do like but unfortunately either they are not my size (7-1/4) or they are a near duplicate of something I already own. Vintage Dobbs Stagecoach Bat Masterson style western wide brim derby / bowler with pencil curl, almost like new, nice black felt, original retailer was Ernst Saddlery, a well known saddlery in Sheridan, WY that closed in the mid 70's. I really love this hat and was thinking about getting it reblocked to fit but I just can't stand to see it dismantled, if only it fit me!! The size tag reads 7-1/8 but I measured it to be maybe a slight bit smaller, like 56 or maybe 56.5 cm. Crown is 5-3/4", Brim is 3-1/4" $120 + shipping

Modern Borsalino Fedora from DelMonico Hatters, comes in the box, brown felt, size 58cm, I bought it for an Indy costume but it wasn't blocky (is that a word?) enough so I decided to use a different more vintage looking hat I own. Anyway, I don't believe this hat has ever been worn outside of the house, it's like new. Color is brown. $120 + shipping

This Dobbs is stunning, a bit bigger and I would be a buyer....even in Black! But then if it were bigger you'd be keeping it. Great looking hat.

You're right it's an eye catcher for sure but not because it's flashy or anything, the felt is nice but the edge of the brim is not bound so I don't see it as "a fancy hat", just unique to see in these times and fun, I think it would be a good one to have in the rotation. Reminds me of what would be a working man's dress hat from the old west.
I figure there's got to be someone other than me here looking for this kind of stuff. Hoping to come across something just like it in my size but they are not common... I've searched the internets and all the ones I've been able to find are priced in the $250-$450 range

I have two recent custom hats in a similar style, rolled or kettle curled brim, unbound. I have recently taken to wearing my hats without snapping the brim down and the curled but unbound brim adds interest without adding formality. I call them my country gentlemen's hats.

Thanks for your interest Scooterz, I took some measurements of the Borsalino and it looks like the brim is a 2-3/8 raw edge and the crown is 5” tall with the middle creased. The felt is dress weight and would appear to be of the crushable variety although I can't say so with certainty, it's maybe just a slight bit heavier than some other modern Borsalino crushables I own. The inner lining says “rain proof line”, “1857 Alessandria Made in Italy” and “water repellent fur felt” on it, like new. I think the pictures give the best explaination of the color, or at least looks 100% accurate on my computer. Cheers, D
