Somewhere else in the lounge I read a recent thread with some pictures of a shirt and tie equipped with a tie bar. Now, I can't seem to find that post to reference back to.
Anyway, when did tie bars come into use? Where they around in the 40s?
On a similar note, what types of tie clips/tacks/chains were around in the 40s? I saw a picture from the 30s with a plain clip worn very low on the tie (which was tied pretty high, as was the style with the high-rise slacks).
