I am thinking a pre-loved one for my Maverick 44, has anyone done this?

(I believe it has the snaps for one, (at the tailors at the moment)).

These come up fairly often on Ebay. I bought the newest style one (with removable sleeves) for $100 a few weeks ago. They are in fact extremely warm.

Kind of you to suggest this. It is however as a 'snap in' insert to the Maverick.

Mind you I am sure I can cover the extra layering with one of the many leather waistcoats (herself tells me off about) in the wardrobe

Yup, I understand! I generally just use a sweatshirt or sweater for extra warmth, but these are a bit warmer, and lower bulk.
