Sunday I went to check out this vintage clothing store not too far from home and I found and bought these three coats. Let me know your thoughts:

Looks like the date is Jan 14, 1950.

This one almost goes with these royal blue 1940s hollywood trousers I already had. Coat has patch pockets.

Yes, I like that one too. But I think I like the light color Hart Schaffner and Marx the most. It has a nice thick fabric.

I really love the style and fabric of the the HSM blazer (and it looks like it fits you perfectly). If it had matching trousers, I'd like the brown db quite a lot, too.

  7. Great jackets all. What is your size, if I may ask? A 40 Regular?

    Either a 38 or 40 short.

  9. Thanks! My guess is that the Hart Schaffner & Marx jacket is a 37 Short.

Probably, cause it does fit a tad smaller than the others. Thanks for your observation Marc.

Well I went into American Vintage in Sherman Oaks the other day and bought my first Tweed pants! But, I'm not sure with what coat I can wear them with. I have only two that might go, so let me know what you guys think:

    These are the pants:

    Hi

I like the second example, dk brown db with the lighter pants. Not enough contrast with the first pairing.

    cheers

Johnny, I hate your waistline. Not the height -- the circumference. Grrrr.

    (Oh.... looks damned good, man.)

I like my waistline--I get more material for my money.

I really like the dark brown DB with those trousers. Good look!

Like the tweed pants - do they have buttons for braces/suspenders?

Also, how wide should the cuffs be on these pants? Suggestions?
