You look impeccable in the fine red blazer Edward, had I known of The Flâneur I might have just had time to get to London. I do have a penchant for the striped sports blazer. Having spent a working life in somewhat conservative suits, my backside polishing the squab of the leather seat that sat behind a desk and no longer being the head honcho, I can indulge what some describe as, loud, personally I prefer flamboyant, striped, sports blazers, of which, I have one or two.

Keep an eye on the site; there'll definitely be another Flaneur next year. Fingers crossed, there might well even be a return to the Olympiad next year as well....

Ah, the dear old NSC - are you a fellow member? Did you hear it looks like we're losing our meeting spot? Camden Council have approved plans to turn the first and second floors of the Wheatsheaf into "luxury flats". Sadly, I suspect that also spells inevitable doom for the pub on the ground floor as well, as it will likely lose the marked level of business it gets from the various organisations that currently meet in the upper room, as well as the inevitable noise complaints from the sort of people who buy luxury flats above a historic pub, and then complain about the noise of having a pub below them....

A second outing for the red blazer last night, to see the divine Nell Campbell give her one-woman show, All's Nell that ends Nell at the Trafalgar Theatre on Whitehall. Nell was very enthused by the blazer, which was nice.

We travelled to London yesterday, a pee stop at Winchester and the comment, "nice shirt," by a passer by. "Thank you."
Later, stopping at Cobham Services on the M25, a fellow, commenting on the shirt, couldn't believe that my lovely lady made both shirt and trousers. "Could he take a photo?" I'm probably all over Facebook or similar by now.

My first post in this thread: here I am after a day of strolling around the town and shore of Beverly, Mass., as well as an evening visit to the Salem Willows. Please forgive the lighting for I wasn't able to get to a self-portrait until twilight. Out of the pictures I took, I found that I liked this one the best.

It is a quick favourite - I'll definitely buy more from Albert Prendergast. Slightly warmer than our favourites from Samuel Windsor's previous incarnation, but not too much so for this time of year. It's a wool-cotton mix, so it has a much nicer texture than the manmade fabrics that a lot of the mod-revival stuff that's so common to find in boating blazers.

So, the dear old Rocky Horror Show (no 'Picture' - this is the stage musical, not the film which followed therefrom) turns 50 in June 2023, and so the Powers That Be decreed that 25th May would be the night on which they would host a Gala Performance to celebrate the old girl. The Master Himself, Mr Richard O'Brien, was unable to attend (but sent his best from his home in New Zealand, via video message), however we were spoiled with various attendances - the wonderful current cast, several guest narrators past and present (and a surprise appearance at the end by one Professor Brian Cox), including Nell Campbell and Raynor Burton (the first Rocky, a role which is quite different onstage as opposed to how they adapted the part for the film). Two other alumni of that very first cast in 1973 also made appearances - Patricia Quinn, the originator of the role of Magenta, and Paddy O'Hagan, who was the first actor to play the roles of Eddie / Doctor Scott (traditionally twinned in the stage show, though the film broke with this convention when it cast Meatloaf - who played both roles in the first US production, at the Roxy in LA in 1974 - as Eddie only, in order to include Jonathan Adams (the first Narrator) as Doctor Everett (von) Scott).

I was privileged to be there as an invited guest, among a group of long-time fans with Time Warp (the official fan club). FRom the wide range of costumes I've worn over the years, I chose to reprise my take on Claude Raines. Not fully screen accurate to the original film reference in Rocky's opening number, 'Science Fiction Double Feature', but I rather enjoy it nonetheless. It does always go down a storm. My jaw was in agony much of the night as I bound myself rather tighter than I should have, but it was totally worth it!

Photo above taken outside the theatre, before the show. My office is just round the corner, so I wrapped my head there, giving the cleaner rather a fright when I walked out of the bathroom like that. What was fun was later on, standing around outside before the show, my boss walked past.... and had no idea it was me.

Hayley Flaherty, who has returned to the role of Janet for this tour. A good thing, as she is one of the best. Also in this photo, one of, erm.... several very nice cocktails. Which were all free on the night. Free! FREE! I've been going to the wrong parties all these years....

I took a fair few other photos I won't bore you with, but these are the best of my outfit. I'm very pleased with the smoking robe. It was a much neater fit than anticipated, but works well for this way of wearing it. I'd size up for using as an actual dressing gown. I almost went for a red one with black quilting (still will for a shorter length version in future), but then this one came up on sale. I'm glad I did - I think this has an edge that the red with the black quilting didn't quite.
