I taught my kids tpThe Lumberjack Song (at least part of it) when they were young while we were riding the flume at Camp Snoopy. Grand (but hatless) times! Thanks for bringing back the memory! Onto a couple of drams of Cedar Ridge bourbon. Fantastic Iowa libation and a part of my routine covid test (can I smell it, can I taste it?).

Cheers ladies and gents!

Oh yes the Lumberjack song will live on way past our short lives.

Hmmm, I like the concept of the Covid test. I can see myself enacting a daily test. Maybe.... I hesitate asking my employees to take it when needed.

Sunday morning escapades wearing a Well Dressed Head cap.

Finally an opportunity to share a New Cap. Long hours of work and bitter cold has been my world for a bit. Today is a day off! These Sunday morning pics were taken when it had warmed up to -9'f.

I wish to introduce my new Jonathan Cordova cap in a Magee Donegal wool fabric. This 8 dart cap fits perfectly to my specs and needs. With suggestion and guidance of a couple of folks on the Facebook Cap Department forum the brim is a soft double thickness. Excellent advice fellows!

How about that gorgeous purple silk interior? When I take it off it really catches my eye.
This salt n’ pepper fabric should easily dress up casual or country city wear in my daily travels. The medium weight will be perfect for most months of Minnesota weather. The temp here has warmed up to -4’f (-20’c) and the cap is welcome head gear.

Cheers to all. Best wishes, Eric -

Fox Brothers covert cloth was created in the late 1800's.

This cap was created in February 2021 by Jonathan Cordova.

DSC05648-M.jpg

.
“The term covert derived from the french 'couvert' whose definition is of a shelter or hiding place for game. and referred to the unique colour, woven from a myriad of fibres, tightly spun in a steep twill to create a soft warm hue, quite unlike anything else. Such was the importance of this innovation the V&A museum now credit Cordings as the originator of this special coat and have one in their permanent collection. This tightly woven steep twill originally designed to with stand the harshness of riding. This cloth lends itself to be a beautiful hard wearing cloth whose colour is versatile to be worn with any shade of suit. “. (Fox Brothers website)

Yesterday I stayed comfy under a Magee Donegal wool cap made by Jonathan Cordova.

Work, lunch and back to work for the afternoon and evening has me wearing the same cap. Over lunch the temps have warmed up to 0’f. The cap stayed on my head every where except the inside of the gym.

Donegal wool is best known for the colorful flecks of yarn. Originally all Donegal wool was manufactured in County Donegal, Ireland. Magee is the largest and most famous producers of Donegal tweed.

Lovely cap with all the details. Double brim makes the cap and draped fabric prominent on my head. I like it!

My bride and a bit of WDH at Nara Thai tonight. I get a bit Pavlovian when it comes to Thai...

That is some seriously delicious looking Thai food! Love the cap.

It has warmed up to -14'f. Feels like temp is -32'f (this is with wind chill). Brrr! I have taken a day off and feeling "cabin fever" headed out to walk the property with my dog. A heavy wool jacket with a heavy wool cap with ear flaps kept me comfortable. Go Filson Mackinaw wool!
