A fun time from a couple days ago. Finally opened my 2021 bottle of Longrow 18 and it's great. On the nose and palate it's got the thickest Springbank funk I've come across. From what's indicated on Whiskybase it's 30% Bourbon, 60% Sherry and 10% Chardonnay cask. This year's Act 10 Midwinter Night's Dram is not bad. I think it might develop with some time in an open bottle.
Popped a bottle of Prosecco in the afternoon to get a head start.....broke out the Scrabble game, drank the bottle and popped the second one we were saving for later that night.....Discovered that Scrabble is more fun when hammered. We each got to make up words as when drunk it is hard to formulate the challenge as to why they are not real words.
Never made it to midnight but on the plus side we didn't finish the last bottle and had bubbly left over for Mimosas for breakfast. Great start to the year.
