I see Marathon's showing up here and over in the classifieds today. I just fished another JC Penney brand out of the bay, a Towncraft. If I have my facts straight, Marathons date from early twentieth century, Towncrafts from the nineteen-fifties.
Yes, another trilby (2" brim). Looks to be in great shape, seller claims it's been in a box for forty-five years. The brim's edge is trimmed with ribbon. The color is described as a deep brown, and I am anxious to see it in life.

XXX Quality, whatever that means. When I was a kid, triple X meant it was a dirty movie. Really dirty.

Very cool—I was just looking at that. I’ve seen the borsas like this but never knew there was a Mallory version.
It seems to me Knox may have made one, too.
