Thanks for the compliment Tukwilla. A couple of other Mainstreets are shown here on the Fedora Lounge. Fruno has one that is very styl'n. As to hat collection thanks. Like others they have been accumulating on my hat rack for a few years.

I have been appreciating yoiur hat contributions of late. Anxious to see more.

Thanks Matt. Very flattering sir. Textural - you hit it on the head for me. Between the unique patina the ribbon and binding have morfed into the hat just has a lot. I like it. It is a bold hat in its way.

Your Stetson this morning is just pristine clean. I do like that hat, although my fav is still the Polar. That hat is my definition of "BAD."

Thanks folks. Eric -

Eric, you must be confusing me with another Lounger. The only Adam I have is a Pacesetter. A very nice hat, but it would take a back seat to that beauty.

You are correct sir. Apologies.

I searched back and David (our English relative living in Texas) has a minty Mainstreet. Check it out here: http://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/what-hat-are-you-wearing-today.19520/page-5726#post-2167650

Eric -
I wonder if the Adam, Lee and Marathon are all connected? My newly acquired Marathon has a ribbon very similar to that. I understood that Lee made the Marathon hats, but is there a connection to Adam in there as well?

Sir, the Adam and Lee companies were not connected in the business ownership side during the time your hat would have been manufactured. Would they have sourced similar raw materials? I imagine the answer is yes.

The ribbon treatment is similar to the vtg.Stetson Casual and its ribbon treatment. I know other forum members have this model and similar ribbon treatments.

Greetings All:
Today it’s not a Stetson ha, it’s a Dobbs Forty. I thought i knew what “molds like clay” meant until i got one of these, then i knew. A lovely 70+ year young time capsule, to be sure. Thank you Tim of Alley Kat for custody of this wonderful felted art.
As always appreciation for recent kind words.
Be well. Bowen
