Is anyone aware of a luxury hat brand called MELIN from Southern California ?
I basically threw my NEW ERA hats away after finding this company. Their hats sell out super quick. I have even woken up at 6am to catch a new release....it's that popular.
The website looks sparse at times only because they sell out so quickly.

Never seen a MELIN on FL. I own several of them. Highly Recommended.

  2. It’s incredibly rare to see any sort of ball cap in the hats forum.

I know that is why I was somewhat hesitant to post. However if you look closely at the company you will see they deal in LUXURY fabrics to make their hats. At $60 to $100+ per hat that isn't too common. I thought maybe some of you guys would be into it. You have to get on their mailing list. Hats sell out within hours of going on their website.
Ebay also has vendors who sell new and used.

There is a What Cap are you wearing thread. It mostly features flat caps newsboys and the like.... though I imagine if a ball cap was of decent quality it would fit in that thread nicely

Out this morning for a dog soiree in a St. Lawrence fedora.

This 30's fedora was made in by the Wolthausen Hat Corporation of Brockville, Ontario. Advertisements show this hat worn brim up. I look at my reflection and prefer the brim down in front. Sorry Bob (infamous TFL member who advocated the style and looked darn sharp in brim up).

Filled the feeders and picked up the mail (from the past days) wearing an Adams fedora.

Truth in posting I was wandering and puttering doing my mail duties while sipping coffee.

  8. I don’t doubt that they are high quality. I also suspect that a lot of us wear the occasional ball cap whose photos don’t get posted here. I wear a ball cap at work occasionally, but I’m required to wear the company’s cap.

Maybe start posting photos of yours in the What Cap Are You Wearing Today thread: there might be more interest that I thought.

I took today off. My wife already sent me out for a walkabout as I have been cruising chores and household stuff since 6:00 am. I headed out to "relax" in a Stetson Open Road 3X. A few other Open Roads fell off the storage shelf and it reminded me I need to clean them up after Fall and Winter wearing. I will brush them with Coleman White gas early afternoon.

I am enjoying a day off at my speed - not normal, I get it. This afternoon I will need to get some reading and administration stuff done. Until then full speed away.

I moved some annoying fallen leaves in a Stetson Stratoliner. This version has a 2 7/8" brim. I have included some pics of the Strat with an OR.

In the above pic the Open Road shows in the bottom and the Strat shows in the top.

I grilled some salmon steaks and asparagus for brunch. Our local micro-brewer, Omni Brewing, delivered a growler of hazy pilsner mid-morning. I enjoyed a glass during brunch prep. A DeLuxe Stetson Vogue was my grilling fedora.

I know I have seen quality repro US ball team hats (like old style NY Yankees caps) posted here (or in the caps thread) and on Instagram by Matt Deckard and, maybe, @Zombie_61 , but that's about it.

Wow Eric your always taking great care of your hats. I have 3 big cans of that Coleman gas sitting for about 8 years & I never opened them up being too lazy to get it done. I just fed the wild birds out back and your lineup reminds me of the Doves that started nesting around the house, You always been the early bird as well.

    Cool "The Stetson" Perry.

Che, early always, hopefully not early for my demiss. I do not want to miss of minute of escapades. Glad to see your posts.

    Thanks sir. Doing my part.

Thanks. I wear my hats hard sometimes and restorative care is needed. Today I really sweated up a Stratoliner and an OR. They are sitting open on blocks and have leather condition on them. I usually intend to wear them gently.

Just don't inhale! I worked in a cigar and wine shop with a lounge for awhile and met a few cigarette smokers who were switching to cigars as a less lethal form of tobacco use... but they found it too hard to stop inhaling, a habit holdover from smoking cigarettes. If you inhale cigars, you are making the situation much, much worse. We attended the funeral of a friend who bragged about inhaling strong, Cuban cigars. It was, literally, the death of him. Within 2 years, he had cancer in both lungs...

I have been smoking cigars for close to 30 years. I have never inhaled a cigar or smoked a cigarette. I have cut way back , but I still smoke 3 or 4 a week instead of 3 or 4 a day like I did in the past.
