LOL! "Hoof it to New York". Alan knows I couldn't resist the temptation for an armed robbery. :)

Good to see your post this morning Perry. I do admire your Playboy. Is that hat made (and licensed by Stetson) in Europe? If memory serves you have both the dark Playboy and an Open Road. They are very special hats. Cheers.

  6. Thanks Eric. I believe it was made in the States. It was sold by Johnson's of Peoria, IL. And yes, I have a Black OR too, lucky finds for sure!

ValdarDaino's brother discovered in Mantua about ten days ago made his first ever release.

Change the color which is "Pino - Pine" instead of "Ruggine - Rust".

The proportions are the same and this too is finished with tone-on-tone trimmings.
ValdarDaino 2.jpg The felt is soft and finished with a "Daino" or "Antilope" surface for other hat makers.

A praise to the "La Familiare" hat factory in Montevarchi which for years I thought of medium-low quality, instead in the four hats I found it showed itself to be first rate.
ValdarDaino 6.jpg I hope to repeat some findings from the Montevarchi hat factory.

In the meantime, I wish you a good Tuesday from a sunny and warm Verona, much less in the early morning hours and after sunset.

Thanks Steve. I really like this hat but it's a hair too small. If I try stretching it the brim goes out of whack, I may take it to a local hatter to see if they can put on a brim stitch or maybe a brim binding to help support the floppy brim. ???
