How did you get the grease out of the hat?

In my college fraternity hell week 1969), we had to keep our limited rations under our caps, consisting of spam and dried out bread rolls. I'm sure I threw that cap out after that ordeal.

It was me under the hat - not the meat!
The Akubra is a hat I picked up cheaply second hand a few years ago. It’s been my dedicated barbecue hat for some time now.
乾杯? Yes, some beverages were imbibed while makin’ the bacon.
