What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

I bet your hat is pretty easy on the head too. I see it also has an unreeded sweatband which makes for a very comfortable fit in my opinion. The Dobbs got that TAR thing going on though.lol.
Yeah.. those unreeded sweats do tend to be comfortable.

Starting the weekend off right with a Dobbs Hankachif felt fedora in Walnut with a Chocolate Brown TAR with windcord and one of my personal favorites, an unreeded sweatband.
Joe Mc Carthy posted a Hank-A-Chif felt from Biltmore yesterday. I find it interesting that both brands had their own version of this light weight felt. I wonder who came first...the chicken or the egg ? lol.

One of the other Stetson cowboy conversions. No need for anything to languish unworn in the closet... Just make it more wearable and get it out in the sun!

Just a little observation with cowboy hat conversions..... I usually do a serious alcohol bath to remove most of the stiffener/ shellac. I usually get the hats quite a bit softer, but have noticed that due to the thicker felt on a cowboy hat, they dont seem to show wrinkles and creases as much as a thinner dress felt.. It usually has a nice smooth appearance. Someday Ill have to try pouncing / sanding a cowboy hat down to a dress felt thickness and see how that works. Only real negative of the thicker / heavier felt that I see is that it IS warmer on the head in hot weather.

A mid-80 degree summer day, the perfect weather to get the band back together. Today, I am wearing my Knox Custom. Based on the inner labels, this hat was made in the 1960s for Raleigh Haberdasher, a high end, local men's and women's apparel store based in Washington, DC. Raleigh Haberdasher opened in 1911 and closed in 1992. This hat is a great choice regardless of whether you're on a mission from God or just cruising around town in an old Mount Prospect police car.

Sunday, so it's time for the hats of the week. No new rotation yet; I was too lazy for that.

Still a great line up. Amazing what a little sunshine can do. I’m going with the Borsalino Rutenio this week.
