Hey all!
I did a quick search for similar threads but nothing turned up, if there is an existing thread then I apologize for the clutter.
I'm a long-time hat poster here on the Lounge but don't often post in other topics. However, I found a cool leather jacket while thrifting and I'm curious about whether it's a recognized style and possibly the decade it's from.
About it:
Heavy leather, nice warm liner. I thought at first it may have been artificially distressed, but seeing the other wear on it, I think at least some of the funk isn't fake.
The buttonholes are hidden on the lower pockets as well as the front closure.
As shown in the pics, there is a leather square that looks as though it once had a label sewn to it. Only other taggage is the materials and care tags.

Any input appreciated. Thanks.

Field jacket or car coat........

I agree with treeman. Has a little bit of cop coat mixed in with car coat/ barnstormer. Looks like a good fit!
Thanks guys!
Barnstormer sounds like a great name, as it looks like it survived a few storms and maybe a barn or two...:)
And yes, the fit is wonderful. It's just a little roomier than my (perfect fitting) G1.

This sort of style was particularly popular in the 70s; going by the labels I would hazard a guess that it is 70s or early 80s. Of course, similar coats were around much earlier too. I think it would combine well with a collar and tie and trews, grey fedora.... that inbetweeny season look when you wear the leather instead of a blazer as the blazer isn't warm enough, but it's still too warm for a blazer and an overcoat.

Thanks everyone!
I did get a 70's vibe from it.
Great thing is, where I live is a very mild climate so it can be a year-round coat.
Bummer that the label is gone, it would be nice to know where and by whom it was made. Oh well, still oozes cool!
