Who makes a decent James Dean Rebel Replica jacket that fits modern men?

Those are some cool examples I hadn’t seen before.

I guess I’m torn between being a film nerd who wants to get something screen accurate for some low key cosplay, versus knowing it isn’t a great look on most of us and I’d be better getting a more modern/ conventional red fabric jacket that I’d wear more.

I might be going to the Griffith’s Observatory next year. If I do, I guess I’ll treat myself to that Max Cady jacket. The Sugar Cane version looks way off to me:

Still likely to be in LA later this year and still want to visit the observatory again. Yes a goofy pic in Jim Stark gear still appeals but I really don’t want to spend that kind of money for a rain jacket that I’ll hardly ever wear.

I’m still surprised someone in China isn’t churning out OK copies of these for cheap. It’s either Pakistani **** or crazy high-end Japanese repros.

Might be worth checking out 90s Polo Ralph Lauren jackets. Got this one from ebay for ~50 usd. Even though its cotton and doesn't drape like a nylon jacket, I think it has the right proportions.
