Yes, I bet they would support the ankles very well. These would be great for gardening & hiking if they were comfortable enough. I just wish I had some idea of how much they'll cost?

I have a pair of the men's version of this boot sold by WWII Impressions and also made by Corcoran company. They are sturdy, well made boots. I don't know how much they will cost, but the men's service show (what I own) are priced at $229.

If you ladies do purchase these boots, once they become available, 1940s U.S. Army surplus 40 inch nylon laces can easily be found for them. And, they are generally quite inexpensive.

Looks just like some proper skiing, or hiking boots, just less padded. Would love to have a pair if it wasn't so risky to buy shoes off the web...
