Aero Café Racer in tan steer hide. I also want to get one in FQHH blue.

Help! Vinegar Spots from Smoke Treatment

Air and hanging it in a cupboard with something like febreeeze or an anti-mould/mothball-type product would have gotten the smell out, but undiluted vinegar is going to blotch like oil. You're stuck with those stains, I think, as unfortunate as that might be. If you wear it in the rain...

    Frustrated at Aero prices increases

Buying used is the best option. Lower prices offered by SB, but folks have gripes. If you're shelling out close to 1k gbp and you're willing to throw caution to the wind, Thedi will make you something top-notch for 30-50% more. Given the quality and the decades you get out of an Aero, their...

    Aero Board Racer Leather help

Yeah, it sucks. The tan steer hide CR I have is a nice-looking thing, but it's unwearable :)

    Aero Board Racer Leather help

I'd definitely second not going with FQHH for something like a Board Racer or Café Racer. I have a CR in heavy steer hide, another in battered seal and one in Vicenza - the latter two are by far more comfortable, flexible and practical. The tan steer hide CR is a nice jacket, but it's not very...

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I will. I'm also, simply because I feel like rounding off the collection and not buying any more, going to get an olive deerskin Thedi in a couple of months.

    Washing leather jackets

It's the best stuff I've come across. Works for shoes, jackets, boots, etc

    Washing leather jackets

If you have to wash a leather jacket, put it in a pillow case, cold rinse, no detergent, 15 mins in the machine. Dry outside over about three days. Condition with Renapur or Obenauf or whatever. You might weaken the stitching slightly if you don't use a pillow case. You will screw up the...

    Jacket Question

An Aero Mariner is a good option. I have one that gets regular wear.

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

This is now a go. Got Oakland (strap) sleeves added, no zip on pocket and 1.5 inches added to body length. Typically, production time is short. Pics soon.

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I've got an SBv2 in Blattwerk Mahogany coming from SB as soon as I finalise some small details on the hardware.

Aero vs Simmons Bilt - leather sample - customer experience

Blattwerk Mahogany or Mustard Natural Tan are the lightest SB offerings I've seen. Torf is a bit like Aero's Battered Tan, but not as varied in its tones.

Aero vs Simmons Bilt - leather sample - customer experience

I'm lucky not to have had this experience with any makers so far. I had a Stockman that was too big, but I hadn't sized down. I kept it for years and years and just layered.

Aero vs Simmons Bilt - leather sample - customer experience

About five months ago. Sizing is a really tricky thing - I have limited (although also very long term) experience of professional tailoring. It is always better to get measured in person. Without that, sizing and fitting are professional judgement calls at absolute best. People tend to take...

Aero vs Simmons Bilt - leather sample - customer experience

Yes, I got a boatload of samples (for free) from SB. The Blattwerk Mahogany is a fantastic colour: I'm thinking about an SBV2 in it. The Klondike I got from SB is my best-fitting jacket, although the SB finish isn't quite as good as Aero's - a tailor here was so impressed that he got me to...

    Aero black jerky horsehide

Go for the Badalassi, but it'll squeak. Vicenza rolls nicely.

    Aero black jerky horsehide

It's still a favourite. I got the normal black jerky - you can tell that in a year or two it'll look properly vintage. The worn down edges go beige/brown, not orange, as the black topcoat gets imprinted into the russet base. If in any doubt, go with blackened brown Vicenza - there's not much...

Teacore leather jackets - post yours here!

Hello, I'll get these up when there's some good lighting. The base layer is russet and wears down to a beige/brown. The Plainsman itself is a really cool pattern which goes with anything. Jerky is a great hide with good drape and softness, although it's as durable as any of the other medium...
