FS Barbisio fedora in white, size 59 (7 3/8)
For sale is this Barbisio fedora in natural or more a cream colour. Size 59 with the raw edge brim a 6,5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. Very soft felt with a great hand. No label inside the hat unfortunately. Very odd is the suede finish sweatband. Gorgeous hat, but not my size...- steur

Italian makers trademarks
This week a hat turned up that has been made by Gerardo Riva of Monza (I have yet to take pictures). This had me looking into Riva as a maker. Well, he was. The (registered) trademarks with the names "Rival" and "Delione" start in 1938, with a renewal in 1947. The same brand names pop up in 1960... -
G.B.Borsalino Fu Lazzaro & C. <1936
This one went for far more than I'm comfortable with, but just to save it for posterity, here it is. So not my hat (alas). GB Borsalino fu Lazzaro bowler in grey. Size 57. Dang that is a fine bowler! -

Not my hat, but worth posting for posterity because they rarely pop up. J. Heinr. Ita extra qualität fedora in a size 56. Listed as marine blue, but you wouldn't say that from the pictures. -

Very cool find. Marcel and a good looking hat. Likely not beaver though: all the English union labels looked the same as that one. I think Moores is the maker of this hat. They used the more square looking size and colour or model label. The lettering on the sweatband makes me think Moores as well. -

Give it a brush now and then and keep it in a hat box when you're not wearing it. No need to be too precious; after all it managed very well for the past sixty years or so. -

They are lovely hats. As far as I gathered the base was rabbit and the hare fur was layered on top to create the longhair finish. Hare fur is known to have a better sheen than rabbit. -

It's not beaver. Probably a mix of rabbit and hare fur. Borsalino didn't use beaver very often. If they did it would say "castoro" somewhere on the liner or sweatband. -

Welcome to the lounge. It's vintage. This kind of label appears from 1961 until 1972, so the hat is likely from the sixties. The felt colour is Uranio and the ribbon is black (nera). Nice quality felt on those Diamante twenty five hats.
