DEEP Ribbons.
First thing that came to mind, was the Thomas Farthing too :) Though this one is probably two ribbons sewed together there're vintage examples of very wide ribbons. Most of which I can recall are finished with a backbow though.- PanosChris

The high tapered crown was pretty common on the very early up/rolled-brimmed/transitional style soft felts From American catalogs, late 1800s-very early 1900s Judging by style itself doesn't always do it right and I don't know if the size label or any other particular detail narrows it down...- PanosChris
