Sunday again. The hats of the week, Thought I'd empty some boxes this time to give the big guns a chance to shine. The weather did NOT cooperate. Still.

A staggeringly impressive showing, as always! For me, the Borsalino Gulaita leads the pack, with the Mossant nipping at its heels.

Good morning hat folks.

Yesterday I got home from work efforts and headed out on some errands. A Stetson Royal Deluxe Stratoliner was my hat choice. This hat has some premier felt.

This mornings walkabout was taken under the brim of a inky blue Dobbs fedora.

I enjoyed morning coffee (Volcanica Costa Rica Peaberry) under the brim of a 30's St. Lawrence (made in Brockville, Canada).

A quick jaunt to the grocery/butcher store under the brim of a Gannon Beachcomer (bone felt, vented, and stitched brim with a Stetson beachcomer inspired ribbon treatment).

My hat this weekend is the Gannon beaver. I gave the crown a new crease and now I can’t get this guy off my head.

Climbing on Friday with my niece:

And hanging out this morning at home with coffee. It’s a bit colder here again this morning.

Happy Sunday friends.
Glad you settled in on a new crease that makes you happier. It looks fantastic!

One day, probably around 65 or 70 years ago, some guy in Oakland walked into a shop and said, "Al, that one looks good."

Ten dollars (+ tax) was laid on the counter and the man left with this Mallory Sawbuck on his head.

Fortunately for me, it has survived to this day.

Great colour combo. I know exactly where that is too, there's a barber shop on that corner now, drive by it all the time.

All right!!! Thank you for taking the time to find the link and your offer. You are very generous. I know from your posts that you know your way around a grill and good food.
Hats are the focus here but other stuff matters too!
Much appreciated Gary.
These are reasons that that keep me hanging around.

No problem at all. The jingisukan comes from Hokkaido. It’s really supposed to be made with mutton, but it’s not easy to find in Wakayama, and it’s pretty expensive. We went for pork & chicken.
Get a Cowboy wok. Great for fajita fixin’s or any kind of stir fry. Breakfast, etc.

I had been dreaming about getting a Blackstone a while back and came across the cooking disc. I gave up on the Blackstone and started looking into these. Problem is, I don’t grill for breakfast enough to justify it, especially since getting it to Japan would cost a fair whack. They look great, though. Cowboy wok is a cool name, too.

For weeks, I've been dropping into a local antique store, eyeing, among other things, a Resistol Quicksilver. I could never quite pull the trigger, and I guess the proprietress got sick of seeing either the hat, or me, or both. A week ago Friday we were discussing hats in general, and she dropped the price, twice, in 60 seconds. I finally couldn't say no, and took it home. It was hatband-less when I bought it, and I think the horsehair I had on hand fits its character perfectly. Today was its first outing on my head.

You can use them in a fire pit, on a Weber kettle, or on a propane ring. Great for fish too.
