    Vintage Cameras Still In Use

I have a 1942 Speed Graphic 4 x 5. I shoot mainly black and white with it as I can process it here at home. Amazing clarity. I also have some old Polaroid roll film cameras as well as some old Polaroid "pack" film cameras. All pre automatic. The ones I have you have to pull the picture out of it...

If you said you looked like one celebrity from the Golden Era...

I have no digital images to post but when I was younger and much thinner I was told on more than one occasion that I bore a striking resemblance to Danny Kaye. I never saw this. The only thing I personally saw was my hair was same color and I comb it similarly.

Fountain Pens: Who uses them, and why?

I have been using fountain pens for many many years. I always had a bunch of cheap, low quality fountain pens until a while back when I purchased a Waterman. The reason I use one is I prefer the look of its writing to that of a ball point. I have also noticed that with this Waterman I can...

    Those forgotten actor/actresses..

I'm kind of fond of..... Agnes Moorehead. While she is most known for playing the mother in Bewitched she made some great movies in the 40's. Citizen Kane is one that comes to mind. Van Johnson is another. He was in many movies. The Caine Mutiny and Brigadoon are 2 that I can think of off...

    Coupon and IOU history

When I was a teen I worked for a locally owned grocery. During the evening hours when business was slow the owner had the cashiers go through old magazines cutting out the coupons to turn them in.

What pens are we carrying today?

Well, I loaded it up with some ink when I got home and WOW!! I could not believe the difference in how it writes compared to the cheap drug store fountain pen I had in high school. The medium nib puts down a really nice line and seems to float on the ink as I write. Just amazing.

What pens are we carrying today?

Today I purchased a Waterman Phileas with medium nib. It came with a cartridge of blue ink and a converter. I prefer black ink over blue so I'll be getting some black ink soon.

    My Golden Era Job!

When I was growing up my mother always got our milk, juice, butter, eggs, bacon etc from the "milk man". Used to come in glass bottles with some kind of peel off cap. That was back in the early 70's. I suppose they all went away around here by the late 70's. Wish we still had one. Btw, if I...

What pens are we carrying today?

recommend a fountain pen Hi all, I love writing with a fountain pen. Haven't had one on several years. Couldn't really find one to buy. Anyhow, can any of you recommend a pen. I like one that writes fairly wet really smooth, and probably a medium nib. I'd like to stay in a budget. Say...
