Did the same with my ultralight strat. I still wish the open crown was straight sided and higher. Maybe if they had taken a little off the brim.

It was not stiff because I used Fabric Acrylic Paint, The bond with the leather was not too good, but the flexibility was there. D.

I have never seen genuine M1883 vents personally, and my best guess is that these are just as likely as any to be accurate. I used a pair on a hat I modified for Worf, ( which I neglected to photograph before I sent it to him.) They're probably the best you can find. I've read that no...

Made this grey hat Worf sent me to convert, which I kept since I sent him one his size, as an M1883. Color is all wrong, and the ribbon is olive drab but I figured I'd finish it for completeness sake. The stitching is by hand since my machine brokedown. It's okay. It's done. dean
