I have a Bill Kelso house A2 that was extremely long. Did a few hot water treatments exactly as the original poster did. I also tossed it in the dryer for a few minutes at a time on low heat. It worked for me. I did it more to shorten the jacket opposed to breaking in the leather. Probably...
That's funny. One time I drove from Ann Arbor Mi, to Chicago in traffic with a 25 beagle on my lap. She was a terrible car rider, and would cry until she was on my lap. By the time I got through Chicago, I could barely feel my legs.
29 Toter, I would love to see that jacket when it's done.
I just picked up a Sterlingware pea coat from the local Army/Navy surplus. Marked as used but I'm convinced this guy left the Great Lakes training center for San Diego and never wore it. Looks brand new. $90.
I'd love to know the dimensions of a size 48 ELC A1. I wrote Eastman and they won't give that info out stating something about they'd rather get measurements of the person.
How much will a leather jacket shrink with a hot water treatment? I'm hoping to shrink the length more than width. Any techniques that work best? I searched but didn't find the answers I was looking for.
Any suggestions for long-term storage? I'm thinking of cedar lined chest to lie the jackets flat in. I know Eastman Leather sells a a box/drawer type system.
Not a dig at all. I also have been inquiring about the status of jacket that is over due, and was supposed to be ready the last week of August. I'm saying Amanda gets backed up on her email every now and then.
