    Zippers

Can someone help determine the age of this zipper please? It has a Talon slider ( 1/2 inch long) and a Lightning pull. The length as a whole is 1 inch. The back is marked 6 1 B. Thank you in advance. :)

It was a quiet but pretty wedding...

I have spent the past 2 years uploading my great great aunt's scrapbooks to my website. I am not done yet but have quite a bit up so far. She collected newspaper clippings of births, deaths and marriages. The weddings are what intrigue me the most. Quite a few start with "It was a quiet but...

    Pant Identification Please

Thank you MondoFW. :) What are the differences in dating with exterior suspender buttons vs. interior? They don't feel like wool to me but I am nowhere near an expert. Could they be a cotton and wool blend? If I recall correctly they feel like how jeans with lycra in them feel.

The Thread to Display Your 1930s Suits

Thank you MondoFW. :) I was squealing inside when I found it. I frequent second hand shops, very rarely vintage based ones. But I examine everything - no one likes to shop with me! My boyfriend has sat in the car numerous times for 2 to 3 hours waiting for me. I am very blessed with this man! I...

Could you please help me identify the age of these pants and the type of fabric too please? The material feels heavy and stiff. It is dark green in colour and textured. Thank you. :)

The Thread to Display Your 1930s Suits

Here is a 1930 tuxedo suit that I recently acquired. The jacket is labeled Geo. Hoelscher Kitchener, Ontario while the pants have Geo. Hoelscher Berlin buttons. The name of the Ontario ( Canada) city Berlin was officially changed to Kitchener in 1916. I am wondering if the pants were made...

    Priok & Wulsten Suit Jacket

Thank you MondoFW. :) I think the stamp on the ticket says: Technische Hochschule Darmstadt with Studenten - Ausschuk in the middle. I am guessing this translates to the Student Committee of Darmstadt Engineering School ( later on renamed from school to university.)

    Priok & Wulsten Suit Jacket

Hi! I am hoping you can help me date this suit jacket please. :) I have googled but can't find the maker. Someone has told me that it is pre 1945 as Breslau is now called Wroclow. There is only the one label in the jacket but I did find a ticket stub in one of the front pockets. Thank you in...

    Vanguard Savile Row

I received a reply from Savile Row Company in less than half an hour! I am impressed. What a nice fellow! :) "Good Afternoon, Unfortunately this shirt is not one of ours. We are 'The Savile Row Company' and our labels will have this present on this. There are many tailors on Savile Row who use...

    Vanguard Savile Row

I sent them a Facebook message yesterday, no reply yet so will send them an email as well. I am contemplating actually going in to the George Richards shop that is near me. Would probably get better results in person. :)
