I had a pair years ago from Etienne Aigner when they had shops open (worked in one), haven't seen them sold since the mid 90's. I echo others on the Bass Weejuns. Have a pair in black that have lasted many years.
Same here...love these cars. If I had to pick one at this very moment, I'd aim for a late 1930's Chrysler New Yorker. Or a Studebaker. (it is hard to pick just one)
Thanks for pointing out this pattern, swingal! I've been looking for wide leg pants, and had found a modern pattern for a similar shirt (but wanted 30's or 40's). Glad that she's offering a whole outfit in one set of patterns. :eusa_clap
I missed that Poirot. Hope it's shown again so I can record it. Caught a little bit of a PBS special on the filming of the episode.
I'm looking forward to tonight's episode of Warehouse 13. It didn't hook me until the end of last season. Tonight should have several guest stars - two folks...
I don't drink much soda, but when I do it's usually Diet Coke. Used to drink the regular version (before and after '84) til I had it coming out my ears! :p But these days I aim for water and tea more (gotta give it up for hydration in this heat and humidity).
I was surprised at how many of my non-vintage buddies asked me about the episode afterwards. Even they were impressed! :)
The nurse's uniforms were lovely, too. Though I admit most of my attention was focused on the gents in suits and uniforms. All tall, cool drinks of water, they were. ;)
Getting lasik for my astigmatism and near-sightedness, I curbed my nail biting long, long ago (with icky tasting polish) and my nails are a great length and very healthy, and coloring my hair back to a natural color for me and letting the treated hair grow out and get cut.
Those are really cool (all of em')! I'll have to keep my eye out for these locally as well. They remind me of some modern cuff designs I have, though these here are a bit larger and more elaborate. I'm loving how they wind up the ear, like bouganvilla on a trellis. ;) :p
FM - I don't know you from Adam (so, Hello! ;) ) and thought the jacket looked just fine on yah. If it feels good on you and you feel good wearing it, that's what matters.
Sorry for sidestepping in to a thread. Just thought it was pretty cool that the name inside the jacket matched your...
I'm pretty sure my grandfather turned to hats (dress and casual styles) as he gradually lost his hair. I do wish he were more comfortable when he didn't wear a hat though...perhaps trim or buzz to the combover. In the wind it just stuck straight up, and it took a bit of effort to not crack a...
I don't watch much of the series Eureka, but did catch last night's episode this morning on dvr. A few of the cast ended up being pulled back through time to their town's founder's day in 1947. Prior to that, during WWII Eureka was a military camp. Nice suits, dresses, hats and military wear...
75 to 80 degrees with around 50% humidity and little puffy clouds (chanelling Bob Ross here) would be just about perfect in Florida. Maybe some light rain to take the afternoon and evening temps down just a bit more.
I miss springtime. :(
