Man, I need to learn how to sew a ribbon onto my hat. I've grown to love my Adventurer except for the conspicuous tack stitches in the band.

I remember feeling a bit disappointed when I bought my light grey Adventurer last year and a wrote a pseudo-scathing review. However, I have grown to really love that hat; it's probably the dressiest looking hat in my relatively limited collection.

For me, it's not the hat; I haven't left the house in almost a year without some sort of hat, it's everything else. I do have more casual hats, heck, that black Tilley is much more casual looking than my Christy's Adventurer, but I also remember feeling like I had to revamp my entire wardrobe...

I've seen a few pictures of loungers wearing casual attire with their felt hats, how do you all do it? I can't help but feel ridiculous wearing jeans, a t-shirt or sweater, and a fedora; I always feel the need to dress up. I still dress casually with some of my hats, usually when I'm running...

Well it is actually factory creased and it is pretty tapered, here it is beside my Adventurer. It holds up to the elements really well. The fit is a bit off because of the lack of a leather sweatband and the foldaway earflaps, but it can be secured pretty snugly with the earflaps...

Meh, what the hell, it's probably my only good picture in a hat anyways. In the Tilley Fedora; so modern, it doesn't even have grosgrain. Do I get extra points for that? :D

I love that thick ribbon, I always have a soft spot for light grey hats, it's probably because of Paul Newman. :eusa_clap

I still kind of associate newsboy caps with the lower class...no offense. [huh]

Welcome, fellow Ontarian here. I visited the Hatter in January or February; great place but didn't see anything I absolutely had to have. But with summer quickly approaching I am in need of a nice summer hat, I'll probably head down there again.

Could a Fed owner post up a picture of the ribbon, more specifically, the stitching (if it's visible) holding it in place?

"Angles are attitudes." I tried "brim swooping over my eyes" look and with my peacoat, I just look like the creepy "neighbourhood watch" guy. I agree that the tipped back look does convey a friendlier persona; in modern society, fedoras are mysterious enough as is. My only problem with the...
