    Good Harrington or Barracuda Jacket..

Ryan O’Neil played Rodney Harrington in Peyton Place in the 60’s. He wore a G9. John Simmons opened a shop in London selling Ivy League clothes. He was a fan of Peyton Place so he sold G9’s as Harringtons. The origin of the G9 being known as a Harrington. So IMO any variation that does not...

    Good Harrington or Barracuda Jacket..

With all respect if it doesn’t have raglan sleeves and/or a knitted waist band it’s not a Harrington. I’m guessing that’s why the inverted commas on the name in your post.

    Good Harrington or Barracuda Jacket..

Sorry that I’m a bit late for the party here but being a Harrington fan for 60 odd years now I felt the need to share. Forget JTG, Merc and the likes. They’re not proper spec Harringtons. Baracuta may be nice but way overpriced. Also the company behind the brand name is not the original that...

    My early D pocket

That’s the upper end of one of the sleeve zips. But I see your point. Never noticed that in all the years I’ve had it.

That’s the jacket I was referring to. Seen a few on eBay. Just noticed the belt doesn’t appear to be tapered like mine.

    My early D pocket

I've seen the odd few Sears variant. Looks exactly the same from the front. Has a green and black plaid wool lining and the back is missing the half belt.

    My early D pocket

Thanks. It's a non-brand generic. I was told by the women I bought it from that it came from the estate of a guy who'd reached his 90's and that he'd bought it in the 40's. I can't vouch for that but there are details that certainly make it early in the evolution of the motorcycle jacket. Note...

    My early D pocket

Thanks. It works for me. I particularly like that it's early so still retains the civilian half belt feature before they evolved into the m/c jackets with the more usual back pattern. I had it quite a number of years now and go through phases of wearing it and leaving it packed away.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I've been wearing this today for those allowed out of the house occasions with us all in lockdown while it's still cold enough here I can get away with it.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Thank you. I love it and find myself looking for reasons to go out just so I can be wearing it.
