For those of you that soaking the denim in a tub/etc. seems too much for, why not try sanforized denim? Sanforized means the denim's already been stretched, so shrinking/stretching will be minimal and there's no real need for an initial soak. You can expect the standard 0.5-1" stretch in the...
I'm taking a year off and working in a law firm now, as a paralegal, and everything you say is true. I had actually applied last year and deferred my enrollment in order to earn some money and figure out if this was genuinely what I wanted to do. As for how that's gone, everyone I've talked to...
Awesome. Have you got any pictures of it, by the way?
I'm trying to get a clearer idea on what exactly Stuart's russet looks like! Some of the photos on his website are very dim, others seem to show off drastically different colors.
What jacket do you wear the most out of all of yours, out of curiosity?
And yours has a nice deep brown color to it, is that Stuart's "russet" from the site? I'd been expecting something more red but his site reads that he only offers the black and russet.
Interesting! The collar seems slightly smaller than some of the others I've seen, somehow, is that true?
Just one question haha... Got any pictures with the jacket on?
That's a beautiful jacket, Seb. You have great taste and despite all the great feedback I've gotten about Johnson here, it still blows me away that they can execute this kind of thing. How long have you had it now?
Oddly enough, that may just be the kind of cowhide I want... if not that...
Thank you so much. That's a very helpful post.
Since I can't PM (do I need a certain post count, maybe?), I hope he sees this... If anyone could PM him to check here that'd be great!
Seb, would you be willing to post photos of your 3 oz. brown cowhide jacket? I'd be looking for something...
So far, the plan's to see what Johnson Leathers can do and get a price set before I consider any other options. I'm currently asking about their cowhide selection (and am still not sure what would hold up best to general environmental wear and tear but supple enough for casual use, i.e. no...
Maybe! I'll keep an eye out. Vintage/repros aren't my thing so much as a usable jacket, but a quality frugal option, on the other hand, haha that's worth taking a look at.
Wanted to rack your brains one more time, though. If I were to get a cowhide jacket from Johnson (presumably in...
Great post, Jack.
I came in just wanting a jacket I could wear as much as possible, in the sense that it would look decent in almost any occasion. The flight jackets kind of drew me in that way, there's a sort of timeless yet slightly rugged feel to them that I felt could be either supremely...
