I am starting my Hatter apprenticeship soon, and I was wondering if there are any “must read” books on hats and hat history. Also if there are any dedicated Western/cowboy hat books, that would be greatly appreciated.

My wacky Akubra Sombrero. Not sure if it’s historically accurate in any way, I bashed it in a bathtub and it changes shape over time. It’s the perfect shape for kayak fishing. I imagine some Cowboy out there had a similar hat, I have been compared to Stinky Pete from Toy Story.
