These are certainly some high-waisted trousers!

Yep, and quite the sale it was. Though I can't help but wonder what I might have found, had I arrived earlier. C'est la vie. In any case I'm quite happy with what I did come away with! Thanks!

Jackpot. I had arrived late, but was still able to make this score. Someone else had already grabbed the 50’s and 60’s ties, as well as the countless vintage self-tie bowties. Who knows what else I might have missed. ….Luckily though, I was able to snag these 1930’s and 1940’s ties, and one...

Following up my previously posted photo in this thread, here's another startling clothing combination, though in a photo that takes place 10 years later. This time the outfit in question is the sports coat, shirt, and tie combo worn by the guy on the right, in this circa October 7, 1959 photo:

Here's a startling combo of a pinstripe db suit with a plaid shirt (and possibly a polka-dotted tie to-boot?) in a circa 1949 photograph:

It's been awhile since I posted, so to make up for the absence here’s some ties I picked up from a recent trip across the pond. 1950’s? tie, “Grenville - 100% Terylene” Tag: End Construction (Coin for size reference): 1930’s tie? Earlier? (Very short length) Close-up of fabric & design...

Smashing finds dh66! It's been too long since I've come across any 40's ties, and your score sure makes me jealous! :D

Thanks! Having a dry-spell just means that your next big score is right around the corner! :D Very nice! I have to agree with you though, after looking at the retail prices for a single tie there's countless other things that take a higher priority. That's part of the reason I love vintage...

Unfortunately I've been going through a bit of a dry period here, but I recently picked these two up: First up, a quite skinny 1960's tie, that I at first thought was modern because of the design. The tie (coin for size reference): Tag: While not vintage, this may be of interest to some...

    Show us your Terylene/Dacron ties!

Glad you like them! I suppose the texture rather feels like a cross between polyester and cotton. It's quite flexible though much more resistant to wrinkles than my silk ties.

    Show us your Terylene/Dacron ties!

I had posted these awhile back the 'Show Us Your Ties' Thread, but having found a thread devoted solely to Terylene/Dacron ties, I figured it would only be proper to post them here. I had picked these up quite awhile back at a yard sale. There was also a purple one and a green one, but someone...

Looks like you had some rousing luck RetroSpectator -not only finding a tie, but also finding a suit to go along with it! Here's another of my recent finds, a nice 1930's tie that I've already had occasion to wear several times: Construction Detail: The label that I almost didn't see:

Thanks for the observation and input on the date! I'm always learning, and love to hear the details and information that others observe and share. It's also surprising to me how ties and other clothing materials from that early of a time period still happen to show up from time to time! Since...
