Aero Hooch Hauler - Brown CXL FQHH - 2 month review

Nice to see that you take your jacket to the park on a push chair, always good to see well loved jackets.

Aero vs Simmons Bilt - leather sample - customer experience

This jacket is from a forum member, lighter colour is russet and darker tobacco. To me they’re just browns, esp. the tobacco. Maybe the colour I refer to as tan is more like “cognac” or “whiskey”.

Aero vs Simmons Bilt - leather sample - customer experience

Did you mean russet, which I believe is lighter than tobacco? Regardless, maybe my notion of “tan” is messed up because as I said above to me it should have some orange to it and not be just a lighter brown. Think the oro legacy leather in RedWings. Badalassi has some nice colours and it’d be...

Aero vs Simmons Bilt - leather sample - customer experience

It’s definitely the closest they have to the “tan” colour in my head (I’ve seen sooo many colour variations of that colour). To me tan has to have some orange in it, natural CXL seems to me more like a light brown, although it depends on the batch/pic I guess.

Footwear to go with our jackets

I’ve entertained the idea of getting some CCP tornadoes at some point (regular ones, not those prosthetic things) but I think in that style my favourite are still a1923 st3 (specific iterations of it with super thick horsehide), even if some think Simone basically copied Carol. I got a pair of...

Aero vs Simmons Bilt - leather sample - customer experience

I was surprised to find out that Aero doesn’t offer any kind of tan colour (at least what I understand as tan colour). It’s all pretty much different shades of brown, black and burgundy. I would’ve considered Badalassi in “olmo” colour if it was an option, although that one is a bit too...

Two small scratches on a brand new leather jacket

I see this trend in footwear forums as well, like Reddit’s /r/goodyearwelt, people considering returning goods for the smallest of things. A few days ago a guy there was considering returning a perfectly fine pair of boots because the edge of the sole had a small discolouration. My guess is...

    American boot alternatives

I read quiality of RM Williams had gone downhill since they were acquired by Louis Vuitton, although I never handled them as I don’t like chelsea boots but some of their lasts/shapes look quite good IMO. Also, Tecovas are made in Mexico. They’re great for the price IMO but it seems that...

Aero Premiere 1930s Half Belt Russet Badalassi- SQUEAKING

For you or anyone curious here’s a review from a lounger of a PHWM in badalassi, you can hear the sqeaks. He also has a review of another badalassi leather jacket, a Shangri-la.

    Field Leathers

Aero marks their apprentice-made jackets differently (and price them cheaper, of course), right? So one can assume a regular Aero is made by someone with experience. So if people that were once working for Aero are now making FL, what is exactly they do that makes them better jackets (from a...

    Thoughts on Shangri-La leather jackets?

Please do post that video. I like your videos as they come across as genuine and non-pretentious, just some guy enjoying his jackets like I do. I’m waiting for a Badalassi Aero and I’m priced out of Shangri-la and Thedi but I’d like to see how they compare. Italians are reaaaally good at...

New member, starting up a crazy JL 6oz leather jacket order

A few years ago I would’ve been all over this, just like I was all over 20oz+ denim*. Then I realised I work sitting on my ass all day, and after that I pick up my daughter, take her to the park and do some groceries so I’m hardly living an Indiana Jones life, and thus I favour softer leather...
