I'm going to take the risk of posting a live ebay auction here because I found a pattern that looks like Hammelby's dress in some ways. I don't know how to make a copy of just the pattern image so you guys can see what I'm talking about. Sorry, mods, feel free to delete if necessary.

Would it be possible to make endpapers for rag curls out of old sheets or this very thin old knit t-shirt I have? I mean, I know you all aren't going to reach out from the computer and stop me, but would it keep my hair from drying, say overnight, if I used that instead of tissue paper? And...
I found a size chart on the back of a 1948 Simplicity pattern and decided to translate it into cm for the gals who use the metric system. Right now it just runs from sizes 12-20 but if anyone has larger or smaller sizes than this, I'll update so we can have the whole shebang.
Size 12

What size are you, Kerry? I have patterns of various sizes you might like and I'll make copies for you if the size is somewhat near.

Free Vintage-Inspired Slipper Pattern
Here's a link to a slipper pattern from this month's Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion magazine. I have a similar pattern for making espadrilles in a 1943 sewing book I got, just no way of currently scanning it. Even though it's not authentic, someone might...
Miss Brill, have you tried asking around at a retirement home or senior center to find someone who worked as a milliner when she or he was young? I bet she/he could tell you how to safely clean and repair that rhinestone hat. Plus you would get to hear some great stories.
Saving that...
Although this link to isn't directly vintage inspired, I'll add it anyway since it will make it easier to find vintage-inspired clothes. It's for all companies with websites that have plus-size sections (clothing, lingerie, sportwears, swimsuits). There is also an eyeglass section if you want...
Maybe you could add some ruffles to knickers you already own? Here's a ruffle tutorial http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v297/morganeccleston/HotRuffleSkirt.jpg
dang it, stupid DNS server problems again, so I can't link the others, but it doesn't look to hard!
I've been scrolling back looking at all the creations, and all I can say is you guys are amazing. And that I'd better get cracking so I can show something off too! I do a much better job buying patterns than actually sewing them up. :eusa_doh: Thanks for the inspiration though!
Amateis, do you have access to a sewing machine now? Here's a link to Erin at her Dress A Day blog just in case. www.dressaday.com/2008/ 01/how-to-choose-sewing-machine.html
Edit: that url isn't working right, but my internet isn't working right either, so I can't go to the Dress a Day site to...

Hmm, I don't consider a 42 inch bust to be plus size, but the seller did, so I'll post it here anyway.
