The only shoes I own that I can imagine lasting that long is the hiking boots my brother grew out of. I'm on my second pair of leather Winter boots lined with lambswool that has started losing their soles, shedding in the lining, and generally wearing out. That's only on the second year, and...

I think maybe stitching would be the best bet, as any way of getting it clean without water would be at least as hard on the glue as water...

I usually Wash about every third day, sometimes every second. Sometimes I drag it out longer. In curls the greasiness doesn't show, so you get away with being lazier....

While I don't think lipstick storage is the best use for it, a secret stash in the heel is a brilliant idea! I could probably stash my emergency money even safer there than in my brassiere.... Mum got me some Forever living aloe chapstick that actually works as opposed to other stuff... But I usually just look for something with no mineral oils and lots of natural oils.. And *ahem* pretty packaging. I found one from L'occitane that was really nice, if only a tad too firm...

Well, I don't really have bangs in that sense, but what I sometimes do is pin curl it all, and then sort of brush it out, grab a teeny piece of the cluster of curls, push it all towards the scalp, and then just pin it all there. It becomes like a teeny version of that poodle thing Betty Grable...
