I just purchased a Scalia crushable wool felt safari hat. The crown is far too soft for my liking. Can I use Kohl’s hat stiffener spray to stiffen the crown or at least provide more firmness? Or, will simply steaming accomplish a more firm crown?

Considering purchase of a Stetson Catera. I would request opinions regarding cutting the brim of the Stetson Catera down to 3" and re-shaping the brim style.
