It's too bad that he left. He was a wonderful resource for everyone here, even those, like myself, who mostly lurk. It's better for him, though, if it's going to remove some frustration from his life.

I agree. I've got a suit made by Burton in the 40s which has a jacket almost identical to that brown one. I've never really been satisfied with it. The proportions of the two-button jacket make it much more elegant.
It really is fantastic. I should have snatched it up while there was still a BIN option. $350 is going to seem like a steal, considering what it might go for now.
Yeah, they will do that. As I live in Japan, I should really try to see whether I can't find some of those reproductions. I still haven't found a decent vintage shop yet. But I also don't get down to Tokyo much.
The seller removed the BIN option from the Austrian (thanks, Flat Foot Floey) suit. Seems he thinks he can get more than $350 for it. And it occurs to me that he's right.

As nice as the German suit is, I prefer the fabric on the one you bought. I'd also need to alter it, which increases its price somewhat.
