You are correct, mine has about a 2 3/4 brim. That bigger brim does look good though...maybe I'll extend my 2 Akubra streak and find a newer version too! Not holding my breath but I can hope!
I could use another band for that Cattleman and not looking to pay DM prices, any thoughts? Not sure...
Reviving an old thread because I now have a new-to-me like-new Riverina. An "older" one, apparently. Green with a bound edge and a double plaited kangaroo band, white satin liner with plastic. Sweet lid!!!
I've had some Akubra luck lately as I also got a used Cattleman 2 weeks ago. Very light...
Thanks, Jared. I thought I had replied in the other threads but I've been crazy busy. That band isn't bad looking but it's not close to screen accurate. The one that Desert Dan posted is close but it was a one off by a friend of a blogger somewhere. I appreciate the effort from both of you...
Thank you. It is black leather, yes, but it has a distinct pattern that I like very much and I think is iconic and essential to the hat. The hat that I bashed looks a good deal like the movie hat but the band looks nothing like it and it makes a huge difference. Especially when my hat doesn't...
III. The Man With No Name hat. This is fantastic western hat. It's almost as iconic as the Indiana Jones hat, but representing the western, rather than the traditional adventure genre.
I recently bought a Wrangler hat by Miller Bros. that I've bashed into a Man With No Name Hat because...

As a follow up on my question about Wrangler Hats by Miller Bros., the hat has "5X BEAVER" stamped on the sweatband. Not surprisingly, it's pretty stiff but not nearly as cardboard feeling as some modern day Stetsons that I've tried on. But hair is clearly seen and it's not unlike a Stratton...
Thanks, RBH. I guess I'll just have to wait for it to come in and see what it's like.
Vladdt, with the size of the brim, the stitching on the brim, the crushed crown, and English mod-styles of the period, I'd guess it was probably a ladies over-sized fashion hat similar to what is worn to...
Good day, boys! Anyone have any info on Miller Bros. line of Wrangler (same logo as the jeans) hats from the late 70's/early 80's? I have only spotted a few online and I saw one picture claiming at least one hat from the line was a 5X fur felt. I recently purchased one online that looks like...
